How Email Consulting Works

FAQS

Why Does it Say 11 am or 12 Noon?

The booking app chooses a start time that the email consult will start and it simply chooses 11 or 12 noon my time on the appointment day.

When Do I Send The Email?

You can send the email question at any time after booking it, but you must send it before the start time of the booking on the selected day.

Check the booking to see which day you selected.

I cannot carry over time and save it for the future.

The follow-up emails must be completed within a few days of each email.

Where Do I Send The Email?

In the booking process it will show you the email address to use.

How Does the Email Consult Work?

The email is not a real-time discussion like a chat, it is a regular email exchange.

Take some time to put together the questions to make sure I have enough information to answer it over email, including your level of chemical sensitivities.

Be sure to complete the follow-up within a few days of my response.

What Topics Are Covered?

The main topics I cover are choosing safe materials for a build or renovation and furnishings within the US.

I also am open to talking about brain retraining.

How is the Time Calculated?

The time is calculated based on how long it takes me to read the email, how long it takes to look up any links or attachments, and how long it takes me to write the email.

I can write about 1200 words in the 45-minute two-email booking if I’m not reviewing any products, photos, or links.

By providing the word count of how much I can write I have found over the years that this is a more accurate way to describe what you will receive.

However, this is just to give you an idea, I do not count the time by words but by my actual time.

Each link you send can take 5-20 minutes to review depending on how complex it is. Which takes away from how much I can write.

If you would like me to send links to the products I recommended, this takes more time and so I wouldn’t be able to write as much.

How Do I Know How Much Time to Book?

After offering many different time options over the years I have found that most questions fall into the 1200-word category, though you will have to guess how much time you think something will take.

1-2 questions is likely what I can get to in 30 minutes.

How Do I Book a Phone Call?

I’m only offering emails right now.

Can I Get a Discovery Call?

I don’t offer discovery calls.

I would suggest booking a 30 min booking with some questions you have about materials/furnishings and if you are happy with that you can continue with more time.

Keep in mind there are only three of us who do this exact kind of work for sensitive folks. One of them only takes on large projects. In terms of who works hourly, I am the only one that works over email, the other person only works over the phone.

What if I Need More Time?

If we are in the middle of a build or large renovation and you need 1-2 more hours than what is available on the calendar, just email me that you want to book more time. This is only for folks who are in the middle of a large project with me.
